Team Austin's portfolio ranges from multi-levelled, top-end homes on the highest slopes of Lion's Head to simpler home renovations and new builds across the Atlantic Seaboard and Southern Suburbs. We offer clients a personal and comprehensive construction service, with every contract professionally coordinated and managed.
That comprehensiveness is deliberate. We lead up to four projects at a time, by choice rather than by capacity. It is the ceiling that lets us give each client a dedicated site presence, hands-on coordination of the full contractor and consultant team, and a founder who remains genuinely reachable throughout the build.
Douglas Austin
Douglas graduated with a BSc in Building Science from the University of Natal, Durban, in 1991, and went on to hold Project Management Professional certification with the PMI (USA) from 1998. He spent the 1990s to 2004 in corporate project management, before founding Team Austin in 2004 to build a practice on his own terms.
Douglas is candid about where that success has come from. Academic grounding matters, but he attributes the practice's standing more to an ethos of absolute honesty and transparency with every client, project after project, for over two decades.
